Early this morning, Lindsay and Olivia left for the hospital for Olivia’s scheduled endoscopy.
We are joyful to announce that no complications were found! This is definitely an answer to many, many hundreds of prayers. Thank you for praying, and thank you, God, for acting on our behalf.
The doctors have told us that the Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) diagnosis looks virtually certain, and that’s how they’re treating Liv’s case. Liv seems better each day, so that’s also a good sign that her body is returning to normal and that it’s HSP.
There is still some blood work pending, and we hope to get the results back on Friday. This will hopefully rule out some possible, but unlikely, kidney problems that rarely accompany HSP as well as some other possible complications. Also, they’re doing biopsies of several tissue samples from the digestive tract; I’m not certain when we’ll know the results of those.
Again, thank you for your prayers!
