The New Work

Dear praying friends and family,

We’re all moved (with the exception of some unpacked boxes) in to our new apartment on Chicago’s west side! As we begin our new work with the Orchard Group, I thought it would be good to expound a bit on what my job is with the Orchard team. There are two big pieces:

Orchard Institute

I’ll be directing the Orchard Institute — a partnership with Christian colleges and universities that provides on-site learning experiences in cities for students who are interested in church planting. The Orchard Institute is a creative way for Orchard to both give students hand-on learning, and to give us an opportunity to evaluate potential future candidates to serve as interns or ministry residents with new church plants.

Church Planting Teams

As you know, Orchard Group has a long history of starting churches in strategic places. Every new church begins with a group that serves as a kind of advisory board. This team brings prayer, experience, and support to the venture during the first few years. I’ll be working with these teams to establish new churches – especially in Spanish-speaking and latino settings.

Thank You

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support for this ministry. We look forward to all that God will do by establishing His church in places that so desperately need Him.
