Please Pray: Resurrection

Dear Praying Friends,

Since we are entering the Easter season, I wanted to spend a bit more time simply marveling at how good God is in these churches that we help to start.

Easter is Christians’ annual remembrance of Jesus’ resurrection, and therefore, the astonishing possibility of resurrection for anyone who believes. It’s no wonder Paul spoke so matter-of-factly about it: If there is no resurrection, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then all of this is pointless!” He continued, If however, resurrection is real, then everything changes.” (1 Cor. 15:13-4, 20-22)

For the churches planted by Orchard Group, this Easter is like many before it: a chance to proclaim Jesus’ resurrection and to share with people his power over their troubles. The resurrection means that no problem is too much for Jesus, not even death. Easter is an opportunity to make a case for the unique message of Christianity: God himself entered into ordinary humanity and provided a way to the truly good life.

Each Easter, our church plants reach tens of thousands. Easter Sunday becomes a good indicator for how a church will grow into the following year. And each Easter Sunday is a time when many new believers are baptized into new faith in Christ. So, while we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, many people also experience their own resurrections” into new life with him.

Thank you for your prayer and generosity. New faith and resurrection to new life is happening in these churches in large part because of your meaningful giving.

Happy Resurrection Day,

Luke
